Step-by-Step Guide to Creating a Servo
Enroll in University
To start, your Sim needs to be enrolled in the University, specifically aiming for a degree related to robotics (e.g., Computer Science or Physics). This step is crucial as it gives access to the Robotics Lab on campus.
Increase Your Robotics Skill
Begin by improving your Sim’s Robotics Skill. This can be done by interacting with the Robotics Workstation available on campus or by purchasing one for your home from the Build/Buy mode. Engage in activities like crafting smaller robots or computer chips to gradually level up the skill.
Reach Level 8 in Robotics Skill
Your Sim must reach at least Level 8 in the Robotics Skill to unlock the ability to create a Servo. Continue crafting and upgrading various robotic items to increase your skill level.
Gather Materials
To build a Servo, you will need various materials, which include:
-
- Computer Chips
- Mechanisms
- Common and Uncommon Upgrade Parts
- These items can be crafted at the Robotics Workstation or obtained through tinkering with electronic items around the house.
Start Building Your Servo
Once you have all the required materials and have reached the necessary Robotics Skill level, go to the Robotics Workstation and select the option to build a Servo. This process takes significant in-game time and effort, so make sure your Sim is well-rested and has no urgent needs.
Activate Your Servo
After the building process is complete, you’ll find the Servo in your Sim’s inventory. Place it in the world and interact with it to activate. Your Servo is now a fully functional member of your household!
Servo Powers and Abilities
Servos come with a unique set of powers and abilities that differentiate them from human Sims:
- Servos do not have traditional Sim needs. Instead, they require regular charging and maintenance to keep functioning properly.
- Servos can alter their appearance at will, adopting different forms to blend in or stand out among Sims.
- They are immune to aging and death from old age. However, neglect can still lead to malfunction and breakdown.
- Servos can gain skills much like human Sims, but without the need for sleep, they can learn and develop skills continuously.
- Servos can perform physical tasks more efficiently than human Sims, including repairs and upgrades to household items.
- Despite being robots, Servos can participate in most social interactions, form relationships, and even become part of a family.
